You took a shy, broken, depressed boy and made him into a stronger, outgoing, happier man. You gave him a place to belong and a community in a place where he didn’t know anybody. Somewhere where the goal was “just to get fit” but where I could make it the best hour of my day. You taught me that while competition against others does matter and that it can force someone to improve, it’s competition against yourself that is most important and brings the most benefits. I was fed up being just another number at other gyms training at group classes and using all the equipment without ever really progressing, getting fed up about the cliques and lack of interaction with others. FFD is a completely different gym, well its not really a gym its a community. I am doing things now i never knew possible with so much support from everyone there. The coaches are all fantastic, incredibly helpful and supportive. Every workout is a challenge but everything is scalable, I am always blown away by seeing other members, every age, size and ability smashing out those workouts. The coaching and adaptability of every workout mean they are open to everyone and the community help you push through each and every challenge!

FFD is such an inspiring and motivating place! The coaches are always on hand to give you advice and help you improve. They take the time to get to know you and can tailor everything to suit your needs and ability. Not only are the coaches behind you every step of the way but the members are too. Since joining FFD I’ve met people from all walks of life and made some amazing friends! FFD has a great sense of community and it’s definitely more than just a gym. It’s a place where you can get fit, make friends and feel inspired every single day!

I have been attending Functional Fitness Dundee regularly for almost three years and joining the box was one of the best fitness decisions I have made. All the coaches have provided me with sound advice during training and WODs to help me make progress towards my goals. There is a real sense of community at FFD with all members always encouraging each other to do the very best that they can. I always enjoy my time there and have met some really great people and made really good friends.

When I joined FFD, I realised very quickly that it was not like a normal gym. It is a community that have fun getting fitter together! The support and encouragement has led myself and many other members into competing and it is definitely something I would not have had the confidence to do without the fantastic coaches and friends that I have now made within FFD.

I first joined FFD after a back injury which meant I wasn’t able to exercise for ten months. To be honest I was quite apprehensive about walking into the box; everyone knows crossfitters are crazy, right?! But I really shouldn’t have been, and they definitely aren’t!. All the exercises and workouts are scaleable to your needs and abilities, even if you aren’t lifting as heavy as the person next to you, you can be sure that you’ll still get an awesome workout. The coaches are friendly, approachable and most of all knowledgeable about their sport. Fast forward two years and I am fitter and stronger than I have ever been, and crossfit has also helped me improve in other sports I play. My body shape has changed for the better and I am capable of things I never thought possible. You often hear the word ‘community’ banded about when people talk about crossfit. But that’s really what it is; everyone – coaches and other members alike – is rooting for you and I’ve made some friends for life.

CrossFit gets results like few other sports but FFD is not just about CrossFit. Jonny, Graham and the team have created something special here! Their knowledge, support and enthusiasm has created a community of people who are learning about their potential, getting stronger and fitter and are supporting each other to do the same. It is amazing to be part of and to experience the change in strength and confidence! I cannot imagine life without this place and the team and know they will continue to go from strength to strength x
Thank you! x

I started CrossFit almost 2 ½ years ago with the sole purpose to just be a better, fitter and happier me. That journey continues every time I step through the doors of FFD CrossFit. I’ve been a member of lots of other mainstream gyms before but nothing kept me there. The magic happens inside the 4 walls of this box from the coaches, the programming and the atmosphere.

However, the most important thing the guys have created here at FFD is the community, the support network and willingness of everyone to be better, to be healthier and to be fitter, it makes you accountable, both to yourself but also to everyone else there too. The coaches become friends, other members become friends and then you realise your just working out with your mates with the music turned up. It just works.

The moment you walk through the doors of FFD CrossFit for the first time you are made to feel welcome both by the coaches and the members and that’s your first experience of the “CrossFit Community”.
The Coaches in FFD are as professional and knowledgeable as they are friendly. This applies to all the coaches in FFD who all bring their own style of coaching and specialisation together resulting in the absolute IDEAL place to train harder and more effectively than you likely ever have before.
Jonny and Graham have created a gym and community that can’t be rivalled. When the timer starts before the workout and the music gets turned up loud the atmosphere is electric!
At the end of a class you’ll high five everyone and find yourself wanting more, you’ll probably never look back to a conventional gym ever again. I can’t thank the team at FFD enough for welcoming me into their gym which has become a huge part of my life

For people coming from other countries like me, it’s not easy to find a new dimension away from home, family, friends…
Every single day I go to the box, there is an absolutely great atmosphere, I see people encouraging each other, I see people smiling (and suffering together), I see people celebrate other people’s achievements…
Our fantastic coaches make this happens.
A beautiful community, great people… we can learn a lot from each other.
